Kenny Schachter has been exhibiting and curating contemporary art shows in museums and galleries internationally while teaching art history and economics for more than thirty years, presently a professor at the University of Zurich (since 2012) while serving on the advisory board; and, on the board of the Engadin Art Talks in Switzerland. Schachter has written a book with Vito Acconci for Springer-Verlag Schachter; contributed to an MIT Press publication on Paul Thek; has a regular column on Artnet (https://news.artnet.com/about/kenny-schachter-289) and has contributed to various international publications, including The Art Newspaper, New York Magazine and The Times Magazine (UK). He has been featured in newspapers, magazines and books including the cover of The NY Times Magazine (September 1996). Schachter co-authored a book on digital art with Noah Charney of Cambridge, published by Rowman & Littlefield November, 2023; Wrote on Matthew Wong for the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam (2024); and on Harald Falconberg for the Deichtorhallen Museum in Hamburg (2024). Schachter had a retrospective at Rental Gallery in New York, Summer, 2018; and, is represented by Nagel Draxler Gallery in Germany and Alex Berns in New York. In 2023/24 Schachter had a mid-career museum survey at the Francisco Carolinum, Linz, Austria, accompanied by a monographic publication.
