Simon Starling approached me with the idea to extract magnesium out of the Dead Sea and fabricate a canoe out of it in order to use it to row over the Dead Sea. An Israeli company extracted the magnesium and in close collaboration with the German industrial foundry Funke, the canoe was casted in parts and welded back together.
