Sylvia Goeschke (born 1942, Basel) is a Swiss painter, printmaker, and sculptor known for works that balance abstraction and organic form. Trained at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel, she began her career as a graphic designer before becoming a full-time artist in 1972.
Her practice spans painting, drawing, reliefs, stone sculpture, and public artworks. Goeschke often works with natural materials—especially stone—creating pared-down, tactile forms that explore transformation, tension, and balance. In many of her public commissions, she integrates sculpture and architecture, producing fountains, wall pieces, and site-specific installations for schools, hospitals, and civic buildings.
